У Вільнюсі готуються презентувати серію масштабних стріт-арт інсталяцій, що поєднують естетику з екологічною свідомістю. У центрі ініціативи — тема змін клімату, що лягла в основу семи нових арт-об’єктів, які з’являться на головних міських артеріях вже найближчим часом. Цей мистецький проєкт приурочений до визнання литовської столиці Зеленою столицею Європи та реалізується в рамках програми «Я творю Вільнюс». Передумовою до створення вуличної серії стала зростаюча увага Європи до питань екологічної трансформації міст. У відповідь на глобальні виклики, такі як перегрівання планети, забруднення та втрата біорізноманіття, Вільнюс вирішив говорити про це художніми засобами. На конкурс «Історії Зеленої столиці» надійшло 30 заявок, з яких експертна комісія обрала найсильніші сім — за критеріями художньої майстерності, актуальності, оригінальності та фінансової обґрунтованості. Загальний бюджет склав майже 82 тис. євро. Інсталяції будуть розміщені у чотирьох локаціях з великим потоком людей. Зокрема, твір «Хованки» з’явиться на віадуку Гележініо Вілко, «Невидимий зв’язок» та «Опора» — на схилах мосту Друйос, а «Ода тролейбусу» прикрасить перехід поблизу торговельного центру «Панорама». Наступний етап мистецької програми запланований на червень.
How Vilnius is Turning into an Open-Air Eco Gallery
Vilnius is preparing to unveil a series of large-scale street art installations that blend visual aesthetics with ecological awareness. At the heart of this initiative lies the issue of climate change, inspiring seven new art pieces that will soon appear in high-traffic urban locations. The project is part of the city’s designation as the European Green Capital and is being carried out under the “I Create Vilnius” programme. The idea for this street art series emerged in response to growing European attention to the environmental transformation of cities. Faced with global challenges such as planetary overheating, pollution, and biodiversity loss, Vilnius has chosen to address these themes through artistic expression. The competition “Green Capital Stories” received 30 submissions, from which a panel of experts selected the top seven projects based on artistic quality, relevance, originality, and financial feasibility. The total budget allocated for implementation amounts to nearly €82,000. The installations will be placed in four highly frequented areas of the city. Notably, the artwork Hide and Seek will be displayed on the Geležinio Vilko viaduct, while Invisible Connection and Support will appear along the slopes of the Drujos Bridge. Meanwhile, Ode to the Trolleybus will adorn a pedestrian crossing near the Panorama shopping centre. The next stage of the art programme is scheduled for June.
