Литовський інститут культури оголосив результати грантової програми, в межах якої було підтримано переклад і публікацію 25 творів сучасних литовських авторів. До переліку увійшли не лише романи та поетичні збірки, а й дитячі книги, ілюстровані альбоми й театральні путівники. Видання готуються 19 мовами, серед яких — українська, англійська, корейська, французька, німецька та інші. Загальний бюджет першого етапу фінансування перевищив 62 тисячі євро. Серед помітних проектів — поетична збірка The Grove of the Eumenides знаного інтелектуала й поета Томаса Венцлови, яка готується до друку у британському видавництві Bloodaxe Books. Інший амбітний проєкт — тримовний альманах From the Jerusalem of the North, що об’єднує поезію понад 20 литовських авторів на єврейську тематику (литовською, івритом і німецькою мовами; видавництво Mediathoughts Verlag). Літературна редакторка журналу Vilnius Review Індре Валантінайте зазначає, що сучасна литовська поезія вирізняється "вишуканістю форми, інтелектуальною насиченістю та свободою тем". Серед яскравих імен — Simonas Bernotas та Diana Paklonskaitė. Lithuanian Literary Export: New Voices for the World — and About the World
The Lithuanian Culture Institute has announced the results of its grant programme supporting the translation and publication of 25 contemporary works by Lithuanian authors. The selection includes not only novels and poetry collections, but also children's books, illustrated albums, and theatre guides. These works are being prepared for publication in 19 languages, including Ukrainian, English, Korean, French, German, and others. The total funding for the first round has exceeded €62,000. Among the standout projects is The Grove of the Eumenides, a poetry collection by renowned intellectual and poet Tomas Venclova, due to be published by the UK-based Bloodaxe Books. Another ambitious undertaking is From the Jerusalem of the North, a trilingual anthology exploring Jewish themes through the work of more than 20 Lithuanian poets — in Lithuanian, Hebrew, and German (Mediathoughts Verlag). According to Indrė Valantinaitė, literary editor at Vilnius Review, contemporary Lithuanian poetry is characterised by “refined form, intellectual richness, and thematic freedom.” Notable voices include Simonas Bernotas and Diana Paklonskaitė, whose texts have received critical praise in cultural media outlets such as Made in Vilnius and Literatūra ir menas, where reviewers highlight the authors’ ability to “gracefully explore personal experience without confining it to a narrow national context.” One of the season’s literary highlights is the new novel by Danutė Kalinauskaitė, Whites Against Blacks — a psychologically nuanced exploration of generational dialogue, memory, and the role of family amid broader social transformations. Literary critic Justas Šlapys notes that “the intimate atmosphere of Kalinauskaitė’s prose allows the reader to perceive historical traumas through the lens of personal experience.”
