Вони виступили на панелях, присвячених письменницькій кар’єрі та жанру горору. Також відбулися зустрічі з експертами, які працювали над відомими серіалами, зокрема Stargate. Фестиваль став не лише майданчиком для обміну досвідом, а й подією, що створює простір для креативності, єднання та популяризації фан-культури. LuxCon: Luxembourg’s Premier Sci-Fi and Fantasy Convention Draws Thousands of Fans
Luxembourg played host to its annual LuxCon convention — the country’s largest event dedicated to science fiction, fantasy, and pop culture. Held at the Forum Geesseknäppchen, the convention attracted thousands of attendees ranging from comic book and video game enthusiasts to professional cosplayers (short for “costume play”), artists, and collectors of rare editions. LuxCon boasts more than a decade of history and is organised by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Society (SFFS), established in 1995. Originally founded as a club for trading card game enthusiasts — particularly fans of Magic: The Gathering — the society has since broadened its focus to include film, literature, board games, role-playing activities, and visual arts. Today, LuxCon is more than just an exhibition hall filled with artists, authors, crafters, and traders. It also features a wide programme of panel discussions, workshops, games, and themed performances. Among the highlights are the popular cosplay competition, evening karaoke and fan quizzes, and expansive gaming zones. This year’s event welcomed a range of special guests, including German fantasy author Robert Corvus (Die Vagabunden), American writer T. Kingfisher (Ursula Vernon), and voice actor Alasdair Stuart. They took part in panels covering topics such as breaking into the writing industry and the art of horror storytelling. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from professionals involved in major television productions, including the Stargate series. Far more than just a celebration of fandom, the festival offered a vibrant platform for creativity, community, and cultural exchange. Visitors from Luxembourg, France, Germany, and Belgium came together with a shared goal: to honour their collective passion for imaginary worlds.
