Серед головних музичних подій — дебютний виступ Calvin Harris на бельгійському Tomorrowland, сети David Guetta, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren і Sara Landry, а також прем’єра композиції Martin Garrix та U2 Fireflies. Програма вкотре вийшла за межі традиційного EDM: поряд із house і progressive звучали hard techno, drum & bass, Afro House та експериментальна електроніка. У післяфестивальному огляді EDMTunes Bryson Page назвав головною інновацією року не окремого хедлайнера, а саму концепцію Consciencia: емоції стали не лише декоративним мотивом, а принципом побудови сценографії та маршруту глядача фестивалем. Видання також звернуло увагу на дедалі виразнішу трансформацію Tomorrowland із фізичної події на глобальний цифровий продукт. За даними EDMTunes, трансляції фестивалю 2026 року зібрали близько 233 млн переглядів на YouTube, TikTok, Facebook та Instagram проти 193 млн роком раніше. У результаті Tomorrowland 2026 став ще масштабнішим як аудіовізуальне явище, хоча суперечки серед постійної аудиторії показали: разом із технологічним розвитком фестивалю дедалі актуальнішим стає питання оновлення його музичної формули.
Tomorrowland 2026 took place in Boom, Belgium, across two weekends — 17–19 and 24–26 July — drawing around 400,000 visitors from more than 200 countries. More than 500 artists performed across 16 stages. The festival’s central theme was Consciencia, built around six core emotions: wonder, love, anger, joy, desire and sadness. Its most striking visual expression was one of the largest Mainstages in Tomorrowland’s history: 140 metres wide and more than 43 metres high, featuring six monumental human faces, waterfalls, fountains and dozens of lasers. DJ Mag, whose readers named Tomorrowland the world’s best festival for the sixth time, praised its ability to combine spectacular scenography, coherent visual storytelling and a broad spectrum of electronic music.
Among the musical highlights were Calvin Harris’s debut appearance at the Belgian edition of Tomorrowland, sets by David Guetta, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren and Sara Landry, and the premiere of Martin Garrix and U2’s new track Fireflies. The programme once again stretched beyond traditional EDM, bringing together house, progressive, hard techno, drum & bass, Afro House and more experimental electronic sounds. Long-time fans, however, were not entirely unanimous in their response. Debate centred on the removal of the traditional early-morning sets that had gradually eased audiences into the day, as well as the ban on fireworks and pyrotechnics during the first weekend because of drought conditions and heightened fire risk. Limited stage pyrotechnics were permitted to return during the second weekend.
In a post-festival review for EDMTunes, Bryson Page argued that the year’s most significant innovation was not any individual headliner but the Consciencia concept itself: the six emotions functioned not simply as decorative motifs, but as an organising principle for the scenography and the audience’s journey through the festival site. The publication also highlighted Tomorrowland’s increasingly pronounced transformation from a physical event into a global digital product. According to EDMTunes, the 2026 broadcasts generated around 233 million views across YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, compared with 193 million the previous year. Tomorrowland 2026 therefore emerged as an even larger audiovisual phenomenon, although debate among its long-standing audience suggested that, alongside its technological evolution, the question of refreshing the festival’s musical formula is becoming increasingly pressing.
